In ref. to HIPAA regulations and billing of patient data, is there a certain type of envelope regarding security?

As far as I know there’s not an official HIPAA complaint envelope. For patient statements we outsource that function now to a service that specializes in printing and mailing the statements – so we don’t do a lot of patient statement mailing.
When we do mail for mostly secondary claims and occasional patient statements and correspondence we use the security envelopes with the interior security lining.
This prevents anyone from reading the contents and ensures privacy. Most office supply places offer these and they are available online.
