Hi. Thinking about a career in medical billing and coding and would like to become certified in medical coding if I go that route. What's the cheapest and quickest way to get certified without getting a degree? Looking for suggestions for something I can afford that will prepare me for the CPC exam, but can be completed quickly.
I'm really not interested in getting a degree right now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Your site has been so helpful in answering many of my questions.
Thanks!

It's a real accomplishment to complete a good comprehensive course in less that 6 months that will prepare you to sit for the CPC coding certification exam.
Probably the quickest way is by an online course or program that you can take at your own pace. For a good reputable program you can expect to pay anywhere from $2500 to $3500. Many schools have financing options to make it easier to pay.
Suggest checking out the Career Step online medical coding program. They're a credible education and training provider with good quality programs at affordable prices.
