What are my options in providing a timely filed claim that was denied?

What can I provide to show proof of timely filed claims to commercial payors?

Answer:
The only success I've had with commercial carriers is to submit the acceptance remittance advice that I receive from the clearinghouse. It's a report that shows when it was sent (and accepted) to the insurance payor.

I go to the carriers website and get their timely filing letter. As you probably know it's different for every insurer and usually a form type letter.

I fill that out, hi-lite the evidence on the remittance report, and mail into the payer.

Hope this helps - I know dealing with timely filing rejections can be very frustrating - good luck!
